The Effect of Androgens on Akt and MEK/Erk Phosphorylation in Mouse Testicular Sertoli Cells

Phosphorylation signaling pathway is critical for spermatogenesis,and the paper studied the protein phosphorylation induced by androgen in mouse Sertoli cells. Sertoli cells were isolated from mouse testes,and we built a stable culture system for the primary cultured cells. Protein phosphorylation signaling pathway antibody arrays data showed that testosterone induced fast phosphorylation of Akt and MEK/Erk. Western blot analysis agreed with the array data,and it also showed that the activation of the signaling pathways was mediated by AR. We concluded that the activation of Akt and MEK/Erk phosphorylation in mouse Sertoli cells was induced by testosterone.
