Study on the Relations between the Molecular Structures of Some 5-(2'-Carboxylphenylazo)-Rhodanine Compounds and Their Fluorescent Properties

The fluorescent properties of some 5-(2'-carboxylphenylazo)-rhodanine compounds, including 5-(2'-carboxylphenylazo)-rhodanine,5-(4'-chloro-2'-carboxylphenylazo) rhodanine,5 (4' bromo 2' carboxylphenylazo) rhodanine,5 (4' iodo 2' carboxyl phenylazo) rhodanine, are systematicallyl studied. The effect of acidity, temperature and solvents on the fluorescent properties of the compounds are observed. The relation between the molecular structures of them and their fluorescent properties are investi gatied. The results of the experiments show that there are some internal relations between the molecular structures and the fluorescent properties.
