Determination of Three Active Components of Akebia from Anhui Province,China,by High-performance Liquid Chromatography

Objective To determine the content of three active components(calceolarioside B,oleanolic acid,and hederagenin)of Akebia from Anhui Province,China,and to investigate its medicinal value.Methods High-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)was used to determine the content of calceolarioside B,oleanolic acid,and hederagenin.The determination of calceolarioside B was performed on an Alltima C18column(4.6mm × 250 mm,5μm)with a mobile phase of methanol-water-phosphoric acid(35∶65∶0.05)at a flow rate of 1.0mL/min,a detection wavelength of 330 nm,and a column temperature of35℃.The determination of oleanolic acid and hederagenin was performed on an Alltima C18column(4.6mm ×250mm,5μm)with a mobile phase of acetonitrile-water(65∶35)at a flow rate of 1.0mL/min,a wavelength of203 nm,and a column temperature of 25 ℃.Results The content of calceolarioside B,oleanolic acid,and hederagenin in Akebia from Ningguo and Mingguang of Anhui Province was higher than that in commercially available Akebia.Conclusion Akebia from Ningguo and Mingguang of Anhui is of good quality,and can be further developed and used.
