A Study of Salome From the Perspective of Aristotle's Tragedy in Poetics

Salome,was an one-act play which based on the Bible and was created by the British Aestheticism representative Oscar Wilde in the 19~(th) century. Some people have regarded it as"the golden apple grafted in the‘branch' of the Bible". By reading the script,it is not difficult for the reader to find the heroine Salome is a tragic person. Based upon the theory of Aristotle' s tragedy in Poetics,this paper mainly intend to interpret Salome' s tragedy from the three perspectives of the consistency of the plot,the features of the character,and the internality of the conflict.
