A Clinical Analysis of Hot Medicated Compress with Evodia Rutaecarpa Ironing Abdomen in Preventing Constipation after the Surgery of Intraspinal Tumors

Objective: Study the effect of Hot Medicated Compress with Evodia Rutaecarpa ironing abdomen in Preventing Constipation after the Surgery of Intraspinal tumors. Method:Method:From February 2014 to July 2017, 64 patients with spinal canal tumors diagnosed by neurosurgery in our hospital, aged 18~80 years, had no constipation before operation, no postoperative incontinence caused by nerve injury, and had constipation symptoms.They were randomly divided into control group(n = 32) and experimental group(n =32). Patients of control group are given general nursing measures, while patients of experimental group are given extra Evodia Rutaecarpa Fomenting Abdomen therapy twice a day for seven consecutive days.Observe and record the time of the first defecation after the surgery,and stool situation of the two groups of patients seven days after operation and the results of the record will refer to the classification of Rome III criteria. Results: The first defecation in the trial group was significantly shorter than that in the control group(P0.05), and the incidence of constipation was significantly lower than that in the control group(P0.05). Conclusion:Evodia Rutaecarpa Fomenting Abdomen can effectively prevent the constipation symptoms of patients who have received the surgery of intraspinal tumors.
