Identification of Barley Germplasms with High Photosynthesis Efficiency and Correlation Analysis Between Photosynthesis and Yield

Identification of barley germplams with high photosynthesis efficiency and studies of the relationships between photosynthesis and yield of barley will provide theoretical basis for breeding of barley varieties with high yield and high photosynthesis efficiency.Photosynthesis and yield related traits as well as their correlations of 31 barley germplasms were analyzed in the study.The main results were as follows :Taking net photosynthetic rate as index,six barley germplasms were identified to be with high photosynthesis efficiency;Except for these correlations between each parameters of photosynthesis or yield,there were significantly negative correlations between intercellular CO_2 concentration and yield of the plot,intercellular CO_2 concentration and seed number per spike,stomatal conductance and yield of the plot.However,there was a significantly positive correlation between intercellular CO_2 concentration and sterile spikelet number per spike; These varieties were divided into five groups according their performance of both efficiency of photosynthesis and yield.
