Research Progress of Autotetraploid in Eggplant

Polyploidy is widespread in the plant.As a breeding method,polyploid breeding has unique advantages and has been successful in many crops.This article reviewed the progress of autotetraploids in eggplants,focusing on the mutagenic techniques,plant characteristics and identification methods of autotetraploids in eggplants,summarized related research of breeding.Finally,the problems existing in autotetraploid breeding were put forward, so as to provide references for the better application of autotetraploid in eggplant breeding.
