The Growth and Growing Model of Masson Pine Plantation

Studies were made at 248 sample plots with different site conditions and ages of Masson pine plantation in Anhui province. The crowndensity was higher than 0.7. Mean sample trees from the 248 sample plots were analysed as well. The site types were differentiated depending Upon the rock types; two—year age grade of pine tree was employed in this research. The data were grouped depending on both site type and age — grade. Then the mean diameter, height and average timber volume of plantation at each age—grade were computed. Based upon the relative analysis with age—grade and investigated factors, six equations were employed to make a comparative analysis for diameter, height and timber volume respectively. One equation that has the highest correlation coefficient and is in keeping with the growing laws would be finally selected. The result shows that the logarithum and power equation clearly indicate the growing laws of diameter, height and timber volume respectively (R0.98).
