Critical Discourse Analysis with Model of Extended Units of Meaning——A Case Study of India Leading English News on BRICS Xiamen Summit

Based on the concept of Critical Discourse Analysis and Sinclair's Model of Extended Units of Meaning,this paper studies the reports of BRICS Xiamen summit in Indian leading English newspapers with corpusdriven approach.The dominating ideology between lines are demonstrated with the guidance of core,colligation,semantic preference and semantic prosody.It finds that Indian leading English newspapers broadly have a positive attitude towards BRICS Xiamen summit.The present research develops the methods of Critical Discourse Analysis and experiments the new approach to ideology study.
