Objective To discuss the role of nutritional therapy on early intervention of synchronous chemoradiotherapy in advanced esophageal cancer. Method Ninety patients with stage---esophageal cancer treated with synchronous chemoradiotherapy were selected and divided into the observation group(n=45) and the control group(n=45) according to different therapy regimens. Patients in the observation group received enteral nutrition therapy, and the patients in control underwent routine method. The nutritional index, immune state and short-term effect of the treatment were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Result The prealbumin(PA) and transferrin(TF) levels of the two groups were compared, and the difference was statistically significant(F_(interblock)=3.66, 4.22, P_(interblock)0.05). The difference in PA and TF levels at different time points was statistically significant(F_(time)=4.18, 4.38, P_(time)0.05). There is interaction between groups and time(F_(interaction)=4.65, 5.75, P_(interaction)0.05). The levels of PA and TF in the two groups were compared between groups, between different time points and between groups at different time points, and the differences were statistically significant(P0.05). After treatment, CD4~+and CD4~+/CD8~+in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P0.05). The short-term therapeutic effect for patients in the observation group was obviously better than that for patients in the control group(P0.05). Conclusion In synchronous chemoradiotherapy for advanced esophageal carcinoma, the early use of enteral nutrition can effectively improve the nutritional status and immune function of the patients, and improve the curative effect.
