Objective To investigate the expression of acetylated lactate dehydrogenase-A(LDH-A) in colorectal cancer(CRC) and analyze its relationship with clinical features of CRC patients. Method Immunohistochemistry method was used to detect the expression of acetylated LDH-A in 40 specimens of CRC tissue and corresponding 40 specimens of adjacent non-cancerous tissues from 40 patients with CRC. Result The positive expression rates of acetylated LDH-A were 22.5%(9/40) in CRC tissues and 47.5%(19/40) in adjacent non-cancerous tissues, with statistically significant difference(P0.05). The expression rate of acetylated LDH-A in CRC tissue from patients with I-II stage CRC was significantly higher than that in CRC tissue from patients with III-IV stage CRC(P0.05). But there was no significant differences of positive expression rates of acetylated LDH-A in different age, sex, differentiated degree(P0.05). Conclusion The expressions of acetylated LDH-A have decreased in CRC, which indicate that acetylated LDH-A maybe related to the development of CRC and play an important negative adjustment role in the initiation and progression of colorectal cancer.
