Expression of HOTAIR mRNA and EZH2 mRNA in renal cell carcinoma tissue

Objective To investigate the expression of HOTAIR mRNA and EZH2 mRNA in renal cell carcinoma tissue. Method Sixty-one renal cell carcinoma tissue specimens from patients with renal cell carcinoma confirmed by pathological examination after surgical resection were selected, and 61 specimens of adjacent normal renal tissues were collected as controls. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) was used to detect the expression levels of HOTAIR mRNA and EZH2 mRNA in renal cell carcinoma tissues and adjacent normal renal tissues. Result The relative expression levels of HOTAIR mRNA and EZH2 mRNA in renal cell carcinoma tissues were significantly higher than those in adjacent normal renal tissues(P0.01). In renal cell carcinoma tissues of patients with different clinical stages and different lymph node metastasis, the relative expression levels of HOTAIR mRNA and EZH2 mRNA were significantly different(P0.01); in renal cell carcinoma tissues, the relative expression of HOTAIR mRNA was(0.76±0.20) and the relative expression of EZH2 mRNA was(2.04 ± 0.51), which were positively correlated(r=0.683, P0.01). Conclusion The expression levels of HOTAIR mRNA and EZH2 mRNA in renal cell carcinoma tissues were significantly higher than those in adjacent normal renal tissues. The detection of HOTAIR and EZH2 levels in patients with renal cell carcinoma has certain reference value for judging the malignant degree of tumors.
