Analyses on Strength of Marble under Uniaxial Compression and the Influences of Strain Rates

XU Songlin et al. [
Usually the shear fracture occurs in the rupture surface near the top and the bottom of marble specimens under uniaxial compression. Henceforth, the strength of specimens could be determined on account of its complex distribution of stress. The result consists well with the strength of triaxial compression. With the increase of strain rates, the C value increased while φ decreased. [
