Study on the Failure of Tunnel by the Geomechanic Model Experiment

The characteristics of tunnel failure are analyzed through a series of geomechanic model experiment based on the similarity theory.The rockmass,initial stress field,excavation are simulated by the geomechanic model experiment with self-developed similar material,loading facility and restriction frame.The displacement and the stress variation during excavation and the failure of tunnel are exactly measured by micro high accuracy measuring technology for displacement and stress,the stress distribution of the rock during excavation and failure is obtained and the failure mechanism is revealed to some degree by analysis of the data.
