Optimization Study of Composite Middle Wall Width in 6 Lane Multi-arch Tunnel

The composite middle wall width of large span and flat multi-arch tunnel not only affects the tunnel's dig span and quantities directly,but also affects the stability of surrounding rock-support structure and middle wall itself.In order to assure the safety of construction,reduce the dig span and economize the engineering investment,combining the project of Shatangkeng bidirectional 6 lane multi-arch tunnel on Guang-He highway,in the research a 3-dimension finite element simulation method was applied to study the optimization of composite middle wall width of large span and flat multi-arch tunnel.By analyzing the field monitoring data,the rationality of chosen composite middle wall width was proved,and the conclusion provided the gist and reference for the design and construction of sample project and similar project.
