Analysis on Coal Bed Methane with Heat Injection Based on COMSOL Multiphysics

COMSOL Multiphysics is numerical simulation software based on the finite element method and it can accomplish coupling calculation in multi-physical field by solving partial differential equations. With the theory of porous medium elasticity mechanics,seepage mechanics and thermodynamics,a full coupled model is established by COMSOL Multiphysics. It is based on predecessors' experimental results to simulate the heat injection exploitation of coal bed methane(CMB)by 200 ℃ water injection and calculate the ground stress,seepage,temperature of the coal seam and the production of CMB. The results show that: After 60 days of 200 ℃ water injection,the temperature of coal seam will increase to 160 ℃,the permeability of coal seam will be 2. 1 × 10- 12m2. Research results prove that using the new technology of heat injection exploitation is feasible,and the production efficiency is also high. Therefore,it is worth popularizing for commercial purpose.
