Optimization Scheme of Comprehensive Geological Prediction of Filling-Type Karst Caves

To ensure the safety of karst tunnel and reduce the possibility of hazards during construction,there is a need to immediate advance forecast the defective geological condition of the tunnel located in karst areas.Taking the Shangjiawan Tunnel in Baokang-Yichang Expressway as the project background,the developing characteristics of the karst of Shangjiawan Tunnel is analyzed using geological analysis,and then the geophysical prospecting methods such as tunnel seismic prediction(TSP) and geological penetrating radar(GPR) are used to probe the filling-type karst caves.Moreover,the drilling and excavation results are adopted to verify the prediction results of TSP and GPR.The prediction results of TSP and GPR are consistent with actual excavation conditions.For the filling-type karst caves,comprehensive geological prediction methods such as TSP,GPR and drilling prediction can be used to advance forecast the defective geological condition of the tunnel located in karst areas,which has some reference significance for the similar engineering.
