Configuration Features of Joints between Reinforced Shield Tunnel Segments

The joints and their changes with time reflect the deformation and failure of various shield tunnel segments.Taking the test images photographed during the experiment of shield tunnel segment before and after reinforcement with composite materials,the configuration features of the joint regions were characterized with regional and boundary parameters.The former parameters include the total pixels,long axis,short axis,equivalent diameter,and intersection angle with horizontal direction.The later parameters were characterized with the geometrical and Fourier-transform-based ones.The changes with time of the configuration parameters were furthermore examined.It shows that the eccentricity ratio,long and short axis have no significant change before and after reinforcement,and may not be sufficiently used to evaluate the reinforcement;changes in the total pixels,equivalent diameter,intersection angle with the horizontal direction,roundness,and the shape index of the joint regions are more stable after reinforcement,and may be used to evaluate the reinforcement effect;the angular index and textual coefficient are much stable after reinforcement and may be efficiently used to evaluate the reinforcement effect.
