\ Objective \ To study the activity of dopamineBhydroxylase(DBH) in human placenta at early pregnancy and its relationship with pregnancy.\ Methods \ Spectrophotometric method was performed to estimate the quantity of DBH in villous chorion between 6th and 8th week of pregnancy.\ Results \ The activity of DBH in human villous chorion increased along with the pregnant period, especially at early stage. The DBH activity of 8th week was significantly higher than that of 6th and 7th week(F=5.76,q=5.88,3.64,P0.05, 0.01). No significant differences were found between other groups(q=0.06-3.24,P0.05).\ Conclusion \ DBH existed in human placenta at early pregnant stage and was involved in the maintenance of pregnancy.\;
