DETERMINATION OF MAOA ACTIVITY IN HUMAN PLACENTA AT EARLY STAGE

\ Objective \ To study the activity of MAOA in human placenta at early pregnant stage and its relationship with pregnancy.\ X]Methods \ Spectrophotometric method was performed to estimate the activity of MAOA in villous chorion of human placenta during 5th-9th pregnant weeks.\ Results \ The activity of MAOA increased along with the pregnant period. The activity of MAOA between 8th and 9th week was significantly higher than that of 5th week(F=5.44, q=3.73, 5.54, P0.01) and 6th week(q=3.07, 4.83, P0.05, 0.01).\ Conclusion \ MAOA existed in the villous chorion of human placenta. The changes of its activity was related to the biosynthesis and release of neurotransmitters or hormones during pregnancy.\;
