Analysis of the similarity between George Simmel and Lewis Coser active contribution theory of social conflict

Scince the 1960s, Western sociologists have paid more attention to social phenomena such as, opposition, tension and conflict, which universally exist within the interior capitalistic society. At the same time, they deeply reflect and criticize the social ideas of social balance, harmony, and stability that are advocated by structural functionalists, and thus a more influential western sociological theory-Social conflict theory, came into being, The theory lays an emphasis on the advantages of social conflict, during the course of social development. Therefore, the article makes a compmison the active contribution. Theory of social conflict of the American, Lewis Coser whith that of the Germen, George Simmel. From it, the author of the article tries to find out the similarity of Conflict theorie of western society. It is very useful for us to understand and communicate whith western society, and promote the stability and development of our Chinese society.
