An Analytical Method for Determining Minimal Dimensions of Plane Cam Mechanisms with Oscillating Follower in Accordance With Allowable Pressure Angle

The problem of designing plane cam mechanisms with oscillating follower in accordance with allowable pressure angle has not been solved satisfactorily up to now. This paper explains a general method and process for determining the minimal radius of prime circle and other sizes of plane cam mechanisms with oscillating follower in accordance with allowable angle, and present a general formula for calculating the maximum pressure angle and its arising postion. The formulae appearing in the paper are suitable for numerical calculations by computer.
