Application of Rongalite-Cobalt Dimethylglyoxime Complex in the Pad Dyeing with Vat Dye Suspension

This paper discusses the possibility of using rongalite-cobaltdimethylglyoxime complex to replace the hydrosulphite in pad dyeingwith vat dye suspension. The stability of the rongalite-cobaltdimethylglyoxime complex in reducing solution and the acceleratingeffect of the cobalt dimethylglyoxime complex on rongalite in steaminghave been measured. The optimal technological condition of steamingand the optimal formula ratio of the constituents of reducing bath arealso determined. Experimental results show that the colour fastess andcolour yield obtained from the use of new reducing system in paddyeing with vat dye suspension are similar to those obtained fromhydrosulphite.
