Photodegradation of Disperse Blue 26 Dye in Water

Li Wanjie ;Huang Lianfen; Weng Jianhua(Department of Fine Chemicals, Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology, Beijing 100029)
The photodegradation kinetics of disperse blue 26 in natural water and organism-free water solution under sunlight and in the indoor photochemical reactor of 300 nmlight. The results show that the half-life of sunlight degradation of the dye in near surfacewater lasts several days in summer and a few weeks in winter. Moreover, photolysis isgradually retarded with the depth of water from a few decimeters to two meters, and itmay be negligible at a depth of over two meters.
