Research Progress on Use of Plant Growth-promoting Rhizobacteria(PGPR)to Improve Plant Growth Under Saline Conditions

Soil salinization is a global environmental problem that influenced crop productivity seriously.The degrees of soil salinization and secondary soil salinization are remarkable in China.Application of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)is cost-effective method to enhance plant biomass or production and clean up contaminants from the environment by plants.This study summarized the salinity effects on plants and soil remediation,the growth promotion mechanism of PGPRs,the research progress of the effects of PGPR on different plant species exposed to salt stress,the significance of inoculation of plants with PGPR strains,as well as the research direction in the future,in order to provide reference information for the utilization of PGPRs in salinity-affected areas.
