The Realization of the Precise Time Synchronization for GPS in Field-Bus Control System

Aiming at the requests of precise time synchronization and unification of time for field-bus control system, Three solutions were presented to precisely adjust time for field-bus control system by timing function of GPS. Taking the SIEMENS SICLOCK GPSDEC system as the example, the time synchronization was realized with ASCII message format and DCF77 signal, pulse signal transmitted by RS-232 interface or TTY current loop interface. When communication protocol of field-bus system having clock function, the broadcast synchronization can be used to adjust time of many kinds of base intelligent device in large-middle-scale field-bus network. The sequential adjusting time was used in down layer intelligent devices for front communication in large-scale bus system, and the time of intelligent devices were adjusted according to early or late order of communication devices. The Point-to-Point time synchronization was used in down layer intelligent devices with clock synchronization signal interface and higher precision in miniature bus system.
