A Study on an Interface Between CAD Model and Geometry Description Model of Materiel

Low modeling efficiency and lack of precision are common problem in current used Geometry Description Model(GDM) of materiel.The route to apply the CAD models of materiel to GDM was investigated,an interface between CAD model and GDM was presented,the basic functions,basic logical flow and implementation techniques of it were analyzed,a simple computer program was also programmed,and the basic function of data conversion was accomplished,an application to a transmission of an automobile was also carried out.The result presents that it is feasible to improve the modeling efficiency of GDM of materiel through the research of a data interface between the CAD model and GDM,it can provide effective support for the modeling of GDM,and it lays a foundation for the development of a practical data interface.
