THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF AN AMMONIA SODIUM THIOCYANATE ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP SYSTEM

The performance of an absorption heat pump system is directly related with the operating temperature. The free choice of the operating temperatures, at which an absorption heat pump system operates, is limited by Gibbs phase rule and the thermodynamic properties of the working pair. Possible combinations of operating temperature, concentrations, flow ratios, and enthalpy based coefficients of performance with and without an economizer, are calculated for ammonia sodium thiocyanate absorption heat pump system. Effects of operating temperatures as well as economizer heat exchanger on the performance of the system are illustrated graphically. Results show that the effects are differently under the above two cases.
