Elastic-Plastic Analysis of Rolling Joint (continued)

Based on author's previous papers [1] and [2] , presented here are discussions on the mechanism of rolling process; on stress distribution of rolling joint; on simulating different situations of rolling process using computer program developed in the previous paper; and on the effects of rolling pressure, hardness of materials, width of ligament, thickness of tube wall, and clearance between tube and tube-hole on the quality of rolling joint. And the behavior of rolling joint during temperature cycling is summarized.An analysis and an assessment of the rolling joint are made as well in accordance with Chinese Tubular Heat Exehanger Standard.It is noted that some statements about the mechanism of rolling process appeared in Some textbooks and papers are inadequate, and that using the term "tube wall thinning rate" is questoioninable as a measure of strength and quality of rolling joint.(3 tables, 5 figures, 8 references)
