Expression and Significance of IL-10,IL-17 and VEGF in Children with Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Pneumonia Complicated with Wheezing

Objective To detect serum levels of interleukin-10( IL-10),interleukin-17( IL-17) and vascular endothelial growth factor( VEGF) in children with mycoplasma pneumoniae( MP) pneumonia complicated with wheezing. Methods A total of 62 children with MP pneumonia were divided into the group A,with wheezing( 32 cases) and the group B,without wheezing( 30 cases). 30 healthy children were enrolled as control group. Serum levels of IL-10,IL-17 and VEGF were measured by ELISA. Results IL-10 level of group A,B and control group were 8. 5 ± 1. 4ng / L,13. 3 ± 2. 1 ng / L and 18. 6 ± 2. 2ng / L,respectively,The serum IL-17 level of group A,B and control group were 25. 8 ± 2. 1ng / L,16. 6 ± 1. 1 ng / L and 10. 1 ±1. 2ng / L,respectively. The serum VEGF level of group A,B and control group were 2226. 2 ± 110. 1ng / L,1601. 1 ± 114. 3 ng / L and 465. 2 ± 100. 1ng / L,respectively. IL-10,IL-17 and VEGF in both MP groups were significantly higher than that of control group( P 0. 01). IL-10,IL-17 and VEGF in MP pneumonia complicated with wheezing were higher than that of MP without wheezing. Conclusion IL-10,IL-17 and VEGF may play important roles in the pathogenesis of MP pneumonia and wheezing attack in children.
