A Study Towards the Predictive Value of CD133 Expression Level of Tumor Stem Cell Surface Marker in Hepatic Metastasis of StageⅡ Colorectal Cancer

Objective To evaluate the predictive value of CD133 expression level in the risk of liver metastasis in patients with stageⅡcolorectal cancer. Methods 98 patients with stage Ⅱ CRC were enrolled from 2012 to2016 in our hospital in this study. The data of liver metastases were collected and the predictive value of CD133 expression level on the risk of stage Ⅱ liver metastases was analyzed. SPSS17. 0 software was used to analyze the data. Results There was no significant difference in the positive rate of CD133 expression between tumor tissues and adjacent tissues. Four patients died during the 1-year follow-up period. All of the 4 patients were in CD133 positive expression group. Two of them has positive CD133 expression in adjacent tissues. The detection rate of liver metastases in the remaining 94 patients was 22. 34%. The incidence of liver metastases in the 75 patients with positive CD133 positive expression was 26. 67%,which was significantly higher than that in the baseline CD133 negative patients( P 0. 05). In addition,the incidence of liver metastases in the group with positive rate of CD133( 87. 50%) was significantly higher than the negative expression group( P 0. 05). Conclusion The increase of CD133 expression in tumor tissue will increase the potential risk of liver metastasis of stage Ⅱ colorectal cancer,and the expression of CD133 in adjacent tissues also has a good predictive function for tumor liver metastasis.
