Improved PID Algorithm Based RF Ablation Therapeutic Instrument

Development of a RF ablation therapeutic instrument based on improved PID algorithm is introduced. It is based on theory of radio frequency local destruction. The equipment adopts master machine and slave machine architecture. The master machine is a PC; the slave machine is an 89C52 singlechip mainly responsible for temperature measurement and control. Data communication between master and slave machines is implemented through RS232 serial port. By adopting improved PID temperature control algorithm, the problem of temperature control precision reduction due to tumor tissue characteristics change by heating and due to process characteristics change with different heaters was solved, thus ensuring homogeneous and smooth radio frequency heating of tumor foci. Fresh pig liver was heated using different heaters (single electrode, multi\|electrodes) to test the algorithm. Experiments showes that the new algorithm has strong adaptability and anti\|interference capability; the equipment works stably and reliably, and can control therapeutic temperature precisely (±2℃), which indicates good clinical application value.
