Application of Finite Element Method to Study on Glass Forming Process

In this paper, authors introduce the mechanical properties, constitutive equations, thermodynamic formulations,forming characteristics of molten glass, and primary principles of thermo-mechanical coupling analysis. The solution of nonlinear contact and friction between tools and forming glass, and adapting remeshing of deforming material in forming simulation are also introduced in this paper. At last, a press forming simulating of picture tube panel and blow forming of beverage bottle with 3D finite element are de- monstrated in the paper.
