Phase Seperation and Crystalline Behavior of Low Temperature Co-fired CaO-B_2O_3-SiO_2 Glass Ceramics

CaO-B2O3-SiO2 glass ceramics is characterized by both low temperature co-firing and excellent dielectric properties.9 compositions of 3 series of glasses around the eutectic region of the CaO-B2O3-SiO2 ternary phase diagram were melted.Differential thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction analysis are performed to study phase separation and crystalline behavior of the glasses.It has been identified that wollastonite,calcium borate and quartz are the main phases in the system.It is possible to obtain the desired properties of the substrate materials by controlling the precipitation of these crystals.
