Preparation of Glass Enamels and Suspension Slip

This paper describes the production process of glass enamels and suspension slip. The composition of base glaze for colouration is based on the PbO-ZnO-B_2O_3-SiO_2 system. The amount of PbO was decreased to0~10 wt%. It isconcluded that the thermal expansion coeffecient of base glaze must be(1.8~4.5)× 10 ̄(-7)/℃ lower than the glass substrate according to the measured results by optical path difference. A good defloculant used for sus-pension of glaze slip was chosen in the lab and good suspension slip was obtained. Suspension mechanism of this defloculant is discussed in detail in the present paper.
