The Application of Three-dimensional Mathematic Modeling in Glass Furnace: The Influence of Doghouse Width Change to the Glass Melting Quality

This paper has done research on the doghouse width changes to glass melting quality by utilizing the established mathematical modeling system of float glass melting process. By changing the width of doghouse,we have made analyses and found molten glass convection,flow field and temperature field in the doghouse land the change of width influences the batch melting and energy consumption. After careful research on the constant breadth doghouse,we found that the optimum construction is the width should be a little bit narrower than the melting tank.
