Analysis of correlation between postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome and Torque teno sus virus type 2 infection

【Objective】To analyze the association between Torque teno sus virus type 2(TTSuV2)infection and postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome(PMWS).【Method】The sera samples of 35 PMWS-suspected pigs and 35 age-matched healthy pigs from the same group were collected,and the comprehensive diagnosis was used to confirm the PMWS-suffered pigs and sub-clinical porcine circovirus type 2(PCV2)-infected pigs.The virus load of both PCV2 and TTSuV2 was determined with fluorescent quantitative PCR,and the difference in virus load of the two viruses was compared,respectively.Moreover,the load correlation between the two viruses was analyzed.【Result】The comprehensive diagnosis confirmed that there were 24 PMWS-suffered pigs and 27 sub-clinical PCV2-infected pigs.The virus load of both PCV2 and TTSuV2 in PMWS-suffered pigs were all significantly higher(P0.01)than subclinical PCV2-infected pigs,and there was a significant(P0.01)correlation between TTSuV2 load and PCV2 load.【Conclusion】There was a certain clinical correlation between PMWS and TTSuV2 infection.
