Design of LVRT Power Supply on Thermal Power Auxiliary Inverter

Aimingatthe problem of LVRT(Low Voltage Ride Through) failure occurring in power grid and the under-voltage protection of auxiliary power inverter in thermal power plant, the LVRT hot standby power supply scheme based on super capacitor and DC/DC boost converter is designed. When the grid voltage drops ≥50% of the rated voltage, the DC/DC boost ensures the long-term stability of the inverter by rectifying the residual voltage of the grid. When the grid voltage drops ≤50% of the rated voltage, it can withstand repeated short-time low voltage crossovers. Maintain the normal operation of the inverter. At the same time, a design method of variable frequency low voltage ride-through power for auxiliary power generation based on super-capacitor is expounded. The system structure is expatiated, and the system parameter design and experimental method are given. The results of simulation and prototype test show that the inverter is equipped with low voltage across the hot standby power supply,which can completely solve the problem of low voltage ride through of the inverter and is of great significance for the stable operation of the power system.
