Effect of Nitrogen on corrosion resistance of 2Cr13 martensitic stainless steel

The test steel with different nitrogen content were produced by using vacuum induction furnace based on 2Cr13 martensite stainless steel with adding nitride alloy. The polarization curve and AC impedance spectroscopy were used to test the corrosion resistance of 2Cr13 martensitic stainless steel in 3. 5% NaCl solution. The relationship between the corrosion resistance of 2Cr13 stainless steel and nitrogen content was studied. Result shows that,with the addition of nitrogen,the pitting potential of 2Cr13 stainless steel,the self-corrosion potential,and the polarization resistance were all increased,indicating the improvement of the electrochemical corrosion resistance of 2Cr13 stainless steel.
