Objective: To investigste the clinical effect of endoscopic sclerosing agent in the treatment of acute bleeding of esophageal varices. Methods: 101 cases of patients with acute bleeding of esophageal varices were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the study group. The control group( n = 50) was given endoscopic esophageal variceal ligation, and the study group( n = 51) was given injection therapy of sclerosing agent. The bleeding rate of active bleeding and the time required for varicose elimination and rebleeding rate were observed in the two groups. Results: The bleeding rate of active bleeding of the two groups was 100%( P 0. 05). The time required for varicose elimination in the study group was significantly shorter than that in the control group( P 0. 05). The rebleeding rate of the observation group was 5. 80 %,significantly lower than that of the control group( 20. 00 %)( P 0. 05). Conclusion: Endoscopic sclerosing agent has a definite effect in the treatment of acute bleeding of esophageal varices, and has a positive effect in preventing rebleeding.
