PROSPECTIVE STUDY ON INFECTION OF GASTRIC CANDIDA

Prospective study on infection of gastric Candida through gastroscopy for 83 patients with chronic gastric diseases from March, 1987 to March, 1988. discovered that total infective rate of candidosis is 21.7%(18/83), of which, shallow border gastritis 8/42 (19%), atrophic gastritis 2/11(18.2%), gastric ulcer 3/10(30%), duodenal ulcer 1/10(10%), gastric cancer 1/7(14.3%),shallow gastritis and duodenitis 2/2(100%), gastric polypus and shallow border gastritis 1/1(100%).Albicans and tropical Candida were common, being 6 and 5 patients separately. Clinical common symptoms in six infective patients with albicans Candida are abdomen discomfort, epigastric pain, acid reflux and belch.The six patients with gastric Candida were traeted with clotrimazolum or nystatinum. When checked two weeks later, Candida culture showed negative, clinical symptoms decreased.
