QUANTITATIVE CULTURE OF PITYROSPORUM AND OBSERVATIONS OF TREATMENT TO SEBORRHEIC DERMATITIS WITH KETOCONAZOLE SHAMPOO

The results of quantitative culture of pityrosporum isolated from the lesion of seborrbeic dermatitis and the effect of seborrheic dermatitis treated with Reto-conazole Shampoo are reported. The mean spore number of pityrosporum from the patients in each cm2 was significantly different before and after treatment . It was significantly reduced after treatment. The results indicate that there is a close relation between pityrosporum and seborrheic dermatitis. Pityrosporum take an important role in the etio-logicate agents of seborrheic dermatitis. It was effective to seborrheic dermatitis with Retoconazole Shampoo through inhibited pityrosporum from growth or reproduction.
