CLINICAL INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF DIRECT CORONARY STENT IMPLANTATION IN UNSTABLE ANGINA PECTORIS

Qiao Lujun (Department of Cardiolgy,Central Hospital of Sheng Li Petroleum Administrative Bureau,Dongying 257034,China)
Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and safety of direct coronary stent implantation in unstable angina pectoris. Methods:The clinical and angiographic data of 124 unstable angina pertoris patients with coronary stent implantation were retrospectively reviewed comparing lesion characteristics of direct stent implantation( n =86) with those of the standard coronary stent implantation technique. Results:In 86 patients, direct stenting was attempted and successfully deployed in 79 patients(91 9%).In direct stent group,7 patients failed to implant the stent directly(5 patients had a very tortuous coronary and 2 had moderate vessel calcification).Lesions in the direct senting group were predominantly type A( n =62) and type B( n =19).Conclusion:Direct coronary stent implantation is feasibile and safe in selected unstable angina pectoris patients.
