Xu Jixiu,Wang Aiting,Tian Weibing, et al (Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Weifang City,Weifang 261011,China)
Objective:To understand the bacteriological condition of newborns umbilicus region infected and offer reference for clinical prevention and treatment. Methods:There were 85 newborns with omphalitis who had been treated and whose bacteriological information was completed between January 1997 and June 2002.We got 98 pathogenic bacteria and analyzed the drug sensitive condition. Results:The major pathogenic bacteria of social acquired infection are G + cocci (70 5%),staphylococcus aureus taking higher proportion. The major pathogenic bacteria of hospital infection are G bacilli (51 4%),escherichia coli taking higher proportion. These germs separated from the two kinds of infection all have multiple drug resistance. But the rate of drug resistance to aminoglycoside and fluoroquinolones is lowest and that to the 3rd generation cephalosporins is lower. Conclusion:The 3rd generation cephalosporins should be first considered in treatment for newborns umbilicus infection, especially serious infection with toxic symptom.
