Objective To investigate the effect of pulse and conventional irrigation of lumbar posterior surgery. Methods One hundred and eighty-six patients with single segmental lumbar disc disease were divided into the experimental group(104cases)and the control group(82cases).Then we compared two groups of patients with intraoperative irrigation time, postoperative drainage volume,Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate(ESR),and C-reactive protein in the 5th day and the 2th day after drainage of liquid in inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α,IL-1,IL-6).Results No significant difference was found between the two groups in ESR and C-reactive protein. But there was a shorter irrigation time, much more postoperative drainage volume and fewer inflammatory cytokines in the experimental group. Conclusion Pulse irrigation is more effective in cleaning incision and it's safe for human body,so it can be popularized in clinical application.
