Current Situation and Development Trend of the Legs of the Self-elevating Offshore Wind Power Installation Vessels

As the legs of the self-elevating are used in the offshore wind power installation,the structural characteristics,the system composition and the main technical parameters of the leg were summarized up in this study.By comparing the advantages and the disadvantages of the legs and jacking systems,and the driving systems,the development direction of the legs and the jacking system of the offshore wind power installation vessel is predicted in this study,for instance,it should be adapt to the environment whose water depth is more than 30 meters,simultaneously,and it should have faster lifting speed,higher efficiency,and the advantage of greater stability and reliability.Thus,this study provides the viable solution to the problem existed and the direction for the further research.
