Electrochemical Synthesis and Properties of Tungsten Alkoxides

WO(OMe)_,WO_2(OEt)_2,and WO_2(OP_r~i)_2 have been prepared by electro- chemical synthesis.The observed order of reactivity in R-OH(R=Me,Et,P_r~)solutions in the electrochemical synthesis of tungsten alkoxides is MeEtP_r~i,and optimum support electrolyte was considered is Bu_4NBr.It was shown that tungsten n—butoxide,tungsten al- lyloxide can not be prepared by electroch Ymical synthesis.The properity of thermolysis of products has been investigated by DTA and TG analysis and results show that tungsten alkoxides decompose direct to the respective oxide,olefin and alcohol.Cyclic voltammetry experiment has been designed to investigate electrochemical behavior of tungsten anode.
