Preparation of WO3 Ultrafine Particles Uia Hydrolysis and Thermal Decomposition of Tungsten Alkoxides

Ultrafine WO3 particles were synthesized by hydrolysis of W(OMe)6 in the methanol solutions and by thermal decomposition of WO(OR)4,WO:(OR)2. Products was analyzed using scanning electron microscope and IR spectral methods. The particles prepared are spherecal or elliptical, fine (dv= 90~400 nm), uniform size and of high-purity. The effects of the various factors on particle properties were studied. Experimental results showed that the mean particle size increased with increasing concentration of tungsten alkox-ide(W(OMe)e) ,but decreased with adjusting PH value of adding water and introducing macromolecule (e. g PEG-400) in to this system. As shown in the experimental results, it is effective to improve agglomerate state of particles that water was divorced from hydrolysis products by meas of absolute alcohol or acetone and that hydrolysis products were dried by depressurixzation.
