This paper studied the plating process of Zn-Fe alloy coatings containing 0.2% to 0.6% Fe from a chloride electrolyte and its black Chromate passivating.Effect of process conditions on the Fe content in the alloy coatings has been discussed. The result shows that the corrosion resistance of Zn-Fe alloy coatings with 0.2% to 0.6% Fe is superior to that of Zinc coatings.
