Propagation of Hermite-Cosh-Gaussian Beams Passing Through an Aperture Optical System

Based on the Collins integral formula, the propagation of Hermite-Cosh-Gaussian(HChG) beams passing through paraxial ABCD optical system with a hard-edge aperture is studied. With the rectangular function expanded into a finite sum of complex Gaussian functions, an approximate analytical propagation equation of HChG beams is derived. Numerical results are given and compared with those derived by the straightforward integral of the Collins formula, which shows the advantage of improving the calculation efficiency.
